Mention of horrific physical and sexual abuse claims emerge from nineteen former students of Agape Boarding School in Stockton, MO this month. A total of over 50 claims have been filed, including but not limited to the following alleged physical, sexual, and emotional abuse:

  • head bashing
  • choking
  • punching the genitals

Former students shared that this type of abuse happened over a period of time, decades to be specific while attending Agape Boarding School. The Roys Report that there is camera footage of alleged abuse and assault from former staff members.

Robert Bucklin, one of the many plaintiffs that are part of this lawsuit against the boarding school and church, shared his experience stating the staffers would allegedly inappropriately touch and abuse him “countless times” including pushing him down and choking him. The court filing also share that one of the plaintiffs blacked out while being sexually abused and another was shoved down, causing a broken nose.

Aside from those mentioned above, several other claims have been made that include heavy bruising, broken bones, and sexual abuse and assault.

The church and boarding school reject the allegations of abuse, according to John Schultz, attorney for Agape Baptist Church and the institution. Schultz follows up in a statement “we intend to file a response to these lawsuits, denying the allegations and look forward to a trial where evidence can be presented to refute these allegations.”
