Jeffery Lamar Carter, a recreation minister at Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke, FL, was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior on a minor. According to State of Florida v. Jeffrey Lamar Carter in the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court in Bradford County, Carter pleaded no contest to aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony and received five years probation.

The report also names three previous presidents of the SBC, a previous vice president, and the previous head of the SBC’s administrative arm as renowned SBC leaders who helped in covering and even encouraged thought abusers.
