According to court records submitted in Johnson County District Court, an unidentified plaintiff has come forward with allegations stating she was another victim who was filmed changing the office of Joseph Heidesch, the former choir director at St. Thomas Aquinas School.

Along with this additional accusation, Heidesch is also facing 30 felony charges after revealing that he placed hidden video cameras in his office where he filmed students changing without their knowledge. The charges against him include:

  • breach of privacy
  • sexual exploitation of children

There are currently three civil lawsuits filed against him by children and their family members in Johnson County.

Court documents shared that the former choir director categorized all the secretly filmed explicit videos of his students by their names. The plaintiff is claiming negligence and premises liability against the school. Invasion of privacy and emotional distress are grounds for legal action against both Heidesch and the school.

The recording of that student, who was enrolled in 2020 and took part in show choir, was also recorded without her permission or knowledge. She alleges that she was misled into believing that a special door lock had been bought to guarantee their safety while getting changed in his office. No official statement has been made regarding that instance.
